Happy Thanksgiving!

My heart was very full today as we spent time with family and friends from near and far. I was reminded how important our family is in this life. It was great to laugh and talk and catch up on each others lives. This time only comes around a couple of times a year, so I have learned to embrace the moments we do have together. I am so grateful for my family and who they are and what they make me want to be. I am proud to be a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. I am thankful for those that have paved the way for me and my husband and continue to help pave the way for my children. I am eternally grateful for my Savior and His unconditional love for me and my weaknesses. As we head into this wonderful time of year, the Christmas Holiday, may we continue to remember the true meaning of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!

I think everyone has a adult and kid table.I think it is great! The best part of the holidays is seeing all the family,you don't see as much.I love it! Family is what matters.

Hey, I want to change my background again, but I am afraid I have to type in all my addresses and post the side pictures again...will I have to do that...is there a way to save them? Just wondering if you knew...cause you change your a lot, right...but you still have your side stuff the same...any help for me?

Kim, That's so funny that you posted that. I just posted the same question to a friend in Vegas because I don't want to have to post my friends and family all over again too. This is why I didn't use a background from Pyzam, and just went with different colors from the blogger. If you just use a template that blogger offers, then you don't have to rewrite them in, but if you use one from pyzam or somewhere else, then I think you do. If I figure out otherwise, I will let you know!

This is what Dana posted on my blog, thought it might help!
**Jilene and Beth...it's a little bit tricky, but you can copy and paste those pictures onto your new template if you look under the HTML tab. I opened my blog under two web browsers - on one I was making changes and on the other I had my old format. Then I scrolled down until I found what looked to be the right HTML for my pictures and links and I copied and pasted. I think you can preview before you save those changes, just to be sure that it's right. Anyway, I hope that helps. Let me know if you have more questions!

nope. doesn't make any sense to me becauseI don't think I could figure out which is which or what is what! I'll stick to my red and green I guess. Thanks for trying to help!

I didn't know Matt was quite the cook. Everything looks so good and fun. I got a lesson in CSS and HTML coding last night and was figuring things out to change my background. First I changed the layout, because with one solid color, the background would be overwhelming. Then I found a background I liked on http://www.holidayjoys.com/holidays/
They gave the code and I only really needed one part from it. The part that is about background images and I took that part out on my coding and pasted it over. Make sure you preview it before you save the changes. We might be able to help you cause Kevin taught me a way to see the coding on your page. This all sounds confusing but it ended up being a few lines that you change and then I changed the color scheme with their easy format. Let me know if you want some help.

It is funny, because we looked at your coding last night to figure out how to put the fun pictures at the top without it being a post. I don't know if it a certain layout or not, and I am sure there is an easier way, but we studied your coding and found where we needed to put the coding in ours for the girl singing.

HELP!!!! I am trying to figure this out and I'm an idiot. I can't figure out where the lines would change! Can you help me via internet?

Sorry, I checked in and it was just the countdown, with no way to leave comments. Do you want the background to be all the same design, from changing it from red to a new design that covers the whole page? If not, you have to pick a new template they already have made, and then tell me the link for the background you want and we can check it out. When you change the template here on customize it keeps all of the things for you.

Once you are signed in, click customize and find the tab for edit html. Go down and find the paragraph after all the Variable things, It starts with "body {" and then it has 7 lines and then a "}" at the bottom. Delete it and put in this:

body {
background:url(http://www.holidayjoys.com/christmas/backgrounds/christmas_background_18.gif);
margin:0;
text-align:center;
line-height: 1.5em;
font:x-small Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Arial, Sans-serif;
color:#cc0000;
font-size/* */:/**/small;
font-size: /**/small;
}

Don't save the changes, just in case it doesn't work, just press preview and if it worked, it should be an overwhelming background all over your page because it substitutes the red. This is just an example. I can't test it out to see if it will work on yours but it would be best if you changed the template so it is easier to read and then let me know which background you want. You do have to play around with it. I will try and get it working for you.

thanks natali. i will give it a shot. i don't know what i am doing. i did find one on holiday joys. it's the green snowflake one. can you help me with that?

I see three. Let me try it out here. There are 3 so I picked you one to show you what it will look like without changing the format. Same thing as before, add this in instead:

body {
background:url(http://www.holidayjoys.com/christmas/backgrounds/christmas_background_31.gif
);
margin:0;
text-align:center;
line-height: 1.5em;
font:x-small Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Arial, Sans-serif;
color:$mainTextColor;
font-size/* */:/**/small;
font-size: /**/small;
}

Good Luck

Invalid variable declaration in page skin: Variable is used but not defined. Input: mainTextColor

where am I going wrong?

Are you sure you got it right? It is all white on my screen.

Jilene said...

Kevin and Natali McKee said...
