A "Feel Good Moment" for a Mom

This is more just a journal entry for myself, but feel free to read on if you like.

There is this little girl Anndee, that lives across the street from us. They just moved in and she is the youngest of 4 girls. She is 8. One Saturday, Anndee was out riding her bike and Madeline asked her if she wanted to play with her. So Anndee and Maddie starting looking for ladybugs. Monday came and same thing, they started playing together. Now, Madeline waits and waits for Anndee to get home from school so she can ask her to play. Most days Anndee comes outside after school, so they ride bikes, look for ladybugs, play with chalk, whatever they can find to do together. Lauren also likes to play outside, so I leave the garage door open, the front door open and check on them literally every 5 minutes. Usually I just get my chair and sit outsdie, but I had dinner to cook that day, so I propped open all my doors and was in my kitchen. All of a sudden, I hear lots of voices. Ones that I didn't recongnize, so I went outside to see what was going on. In my driveway was a bunch of kids, boys and girls, all of them between the ages of 8-10, talking, laughing, riding bikes and having a good time. There was my sweet little 4 year old, right in the middle of the commotion. I say it was a "feel good moment" because if you could have seen how happy my little Madeline was to be in the midst of all these kids that were laughing with her, paying attention to her and playing with her, your heart would have smiled too. The boys left, and the girls were playing "horsie" on the grass with Lauren and Maddie as the riders and the older girls as the horses. It was such an awesome moment to know that the "older kids" were paying attention to Madeline and Lauren. For those that KNOW Madeline, you know she is a VERY outgoing little girl and will say hi to anyone. Most of the time she gets ignored, so to see these kids playing with her and the joy and excitement that she was imminating at that moment...my heart took a picture. I was and am a happy mom~
