Memorial Day Camping

Over Memorial Day, my brother Brian, his girlfriend Kristy, my sister Kara and her friend she met on the street, (just kidding Christian, it's her fiance) came up and we went camping. We went to a spot just outside of Lowman; up through Banks and Crouch, etc. It was a great little site about 1 1/2 hours away. We went up on Saturday and came back on Monday. We really lucked out with the weather. I guess it downpoured on Friday night and it scared everyone away, so there weren't too many campers out. Saturday we got there and set up camp. Madeline was a great helper in that department. Lauren did her best too. Then we headed out to some hot spring that were a few miles down the road. They were awesome! Roasted dogs for dinner, and had peach cobbler that night. Thanks to Christian for cleaning out the dutch oven. Slept like a baby that night thanks for the warm sleeping bags we purchased. The girls did great too. Sunday morning, we got up and it took what felt like forever to do breakfast, but it ended up being totally yummy. Pancakes and bacon. Then we took a hike with the ticks and brought some back with us. It was a nice hike, but man the ticks were ticking! :-) We even lathered up with bug spray. After our hike, we went back to camp, rested, started our dutch oven stew for dinner and went back to the hot springs. Oh, the good ol days when you could stand under the waterfall with your "honey" and kiss. Now we just try to make sure our kids don't drown. (see pictures with Brian and Kristy, Kara and Christian) Back to camp for some stew and smores and off to bed for the kids. They were pooped!

All in all it was a great trip and we are so glad that our family and friends could join us. The girls were fabulous and I couldn't help but think that we have some prety great kids. I hung in there too with the posh potty and the big ol belly! Oh, and if you are wondering why Kara is marrying a homeless guy...she's not. He's a BYU dancer and in a performance in a couple of weeks. He will be clean shaven for the wedding in July! We are glad for this, but we love you Christian!

Love the pics! How are you doing? How are you feeling? We were just in Idaho and I was completely thinking of you! We were there for a very short time or I would have tried to see you. We did fly into Boise though and we drove to Ketchum. Hope all is well!
