Matt's 31st Birthday

Matt celebrated his 31st birthday on September 2nd.
It's been a tradition since before Lauren was born that Madeline and I would get balloons for him and take them to him at work. This year wasn't any different. The girls and I got up that morning, got ready and headed out to get our "goodies." We went and got some Krispy Kreme donuts (the girls favorites) and a balloon from each of them. We were just about at Matt's work when he called. He thought he was ruining our surprise by asking when we were coming by. I lied to him and told him that we were out running errands and then I had a doctor appt, so we weren't going to make it in to see him at work. He fell for it and was a little disappointed. Little did he know, we were sitting in the parking lot while I was talking to him.

Each of the girls had gotten him a birthday balloon, but unfortunately when we got out of the car, Laurens balloon went up, up and away. She was devastated, but got over it fairly quickly. We went up to dad office, being as quiet as a 5 and 2 year old can be and totally surprised him. We really had him going thinking that we weren't going to make it in to see him on his birthday, but we did. The girls loved it and so did daddy-o! Happy Birthday Matt/Dad!

That's so sweet!! Traditions like that are the best. Something you all will remember forever. I need to incorporate more fun traditions into our life.
Love how you fooled him. :o)
