The Leprachaun Trap

Madeline came home one day with the opportunity to create a Leprachaun trap. It was optional, but with Maddie, these things are never optional. So she and her dad wrote out a plan and then created it. The idea was that the leprachaun on the top on the box was trying to reach the pot of gold at the bottom with the spoon. When he couldn't get to it, he turned to the ladder that was at the back on the box. He climbed down the latter and saw the sign that said "DON'T TOUCH." But since Leprachauns don't listen to rules, Mr. Lucky when for the gold anyway. When he got close enough, BAM! The trap fell down and he was caught.

Unfortunately, we didn't catch a Leprachaun this year. Mr. Lucky visited the school, turned everything upside down and left candy, but they were unable to catch him. Even with all the traps in the school! Sneaky little sucker!

I had to run a friend to the airport, but when I got home, and went upstairs, there was a trail of gold chocolate coins leading up thte stairs, and into the kids bedrooms. Mr. Lucky had turned the girls sheets upside down and left candy all over the bed. You'd have thought it was Christmas day all over again.

That's the extent of our St. Patty's Day celebrations. We're not Irish! :-)

what a cute idea! I went as far as wearing green, I think I'll steal your idea for next year.
