Decorating Valentine Cookies

As our yearly tradition, we made Valentine cookies.
Mom makes the sugar cookies, and the kids roll out the dough, shape them with cookies cutters and then we cook them.
After they are cooled, we frost and decorate them.
In past years, we have decorated and mailed to grandparents, but this year I was just plain too lazy to get to the post office and mail them.
So we enjoyed them all to ourselves.
I have to say, they were pretty tasty.
I think the kids had a really good time decorating them this year.

You can never have enough flour, right?  hahaha!

getting ready to decorate with pink frosting and conversation hearts

Mitch went for the biggest cookie he could find

Lauren and Madeline got creative with the cookie cutters

Mitch enjoyed licking the knife and eating the hearts more than the decorating

mmm mmmm good!

love her BIG brown eyes!

Madeline decorated a special cookie for me

and shared one with daddy

they love each other

and after the decorating was done, they decorated themselves.
Lauren is not big on being really dirty, so she went "light" on the frosting nose

Madeline is a little more daring...

and Mitchy...well, he doesn't ever hold back.
Happy Valentines Day!
