Personal Weight Check

I think it's kind of funny that my peds office won't let me bring Lexi in for a personal weight check without making and paying for an appointment.  Since, I don't need a visit with the doctor, I decided to take her to the breastfeeding moms group at the hospital for a weight check.

The good news is that she didn't lose any weight, but she didn't gain any either. 9 days later and nothing. It's not a good thing. Lexi has refused the bottle completely. She won't take breastmilk, formula or the two combined.  When I talked to the lactation specialist, she said to try different bottles, different formula, and possibly sippy cups. Well, I bought it all and I tried it all. Nothing is working. She is stubborn and just loves nursing.

She's also getting to the point where she's not super interested in her solid food anymore either. I think she's afraid that I'm going to put something in her mouth that she doesn't want to take, so she's not going to open her mouth for anything. It's kind of frustrating.

Now for some reason, she's not sleeping through the night either. We were doing so well and sleeping about 8pm-5am and now she's waking and wanting to eat again. I'm drained. Emotionally, physically, mentally, you name it, I'm tired. I want to do what's best for my baby, but I think I'm traumatizing her. Little stinker doesn't sleep during the day either. It's 15 minutes here, 10 minutes there. Usually for a total of less than 1 hour a day. So exhausting.  I'm reading "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" and hoping I will get some ideas on how to make this work.

Something has to change. I'm worried that she won't gain weight and when I take her back for her check, it will be something drastic that they have to do. I love my little girl and will do what it takes to help her out.
