HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

Betcha wish you were here to enjoy these suckers with us! YUM!
(yes, these were cooked by my very own gourmet chef. aren't I lucky?)

This 4th of July was packed with fun from the start.

We began with a ward pancake breakfast, flag ceremony and parade.

The girls decorated their bikes/scooters for the festive day

The kids enjoyed a popsicle outside since it warmed up quite quickly.

Then we headed to our neighborhood where they had a parade with all the decorated bikes/scooters, and a HUGE firetruck that sprayed all the kids with their BIG hose.

Even Maddie got a chance to hold the hose and spray the kids.

Maddie and "boyfriend" Cole. She says she's going to marry him someday. Wouldn't it be funny if she really did. (I love his mom and dad, so it would be ok with me)

Mitchell enjoyed getting sprayed by the hose, but I think daddy enjoyed it more!

After we spent some time at the park, we went home, had some lunch, (our burned hotdogs) and went swimming with some friends. After swimming, we relaxed at home a little, and then headed out to our friends the Brekke's neighborhood party. Their development rented a water bounce house, so we let the kids (and adults) play for a while while the adults enjoyed some much needed "adult interaction." We were also able to spend time with our friends the Johnsons.

Playing on the water slide. It really was a lot of fun.

Lauren hung out in the splash park most of the time, but really seemed to enjoy herself.

Mitchell just enjoys doing what he does best.

Smiling and having a good time.

We weren't able to stay too long at that party because we had to head out to another 4th of July/Birthday party with our friends the Beddes'. That too was a ton of fun. We had a barbecue, good conversation, entertainment for the kids and of course ended the night with lots and lots of fireworks.

This is the cookie pizza I made for the party. (I know the star is a little 'asymmetrical', but it sure tasted good.)

We jumped on the trampoline...

Played tetherball...

Enjoyed good conversation with good friends...

Smashed pinatas...

Spent quality time with family...

Played with sparklers...

enjoyed being with school/church friends

Experienced a 1st fireworks show...

...But most of all, we enjoyed spending time with OUR family...

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!
