JULY 6th, Madeline turned
6. Somedays I can't believe she is already 6 and other days I think,
"man, she's only 6?" Madeline is my sassy, sweet, friendly, outgoing, happy go lucky, emotional, dramatic, beautiful, fabulous, best friend 6 year old. She is truly A-mazing. She is so smart and most days I don't know what to do with her. She is a fabulous big sister, an amazing 1st daughter, a loving and caring friend and we just love her to pieces.
This year was celebrated in style. She was so excited to have her birthday, that she woke up monday morning and started chanting, "I'm 6, I'm 6, I'm really, really 6." It was so fun to watch her so excited.
Matt and I usually go "all out" for birthdays. It's how it always was for me growing up, so I can't imagine it any different for me kids. We were up very late/early morning, the night before. I went to bed a little after 2am and Matt came in at 3:30am. I was decorating her cake and Matt was decorating the front room so she had something fun to wake up to.
We spend the morning getting ready and treating Madeline like a queen.
She started with German pancakes (with strawberry jam and powdered sugar) and bacon. Definitely
HER favorite, but also a family favorite, so everyone was happy all around.
The party started at noon. The kids piled in one by one. I didn't think they were ever going to stop coming. Our sweet Madeline has lots of friends and there were 15 kids invited. Only one didn't make it, so with those 14, my 2 girls, and a couple of siblings, we had a serious party! We rented a princess bounce house, set up the slip and slide, had lunch, threw water balloons, opened presents, ate cupcakes (we couldn't bring ourselved to cut into the cake), and then finished it off with some face painting by Matt. It was a super duper fun party. Thanks to everyone who came and those that called to wish Madeline a Happy Happy Birthday!
Madeline with her German Pancakes and her PLATE of bacon
(no, she didn't finish that by herself, although, she could have!)

Her new ariel swimsuit and towel from Lauren.
(can you tell she likes ariel. she also has her costume on)
The slip and slide...sliding or surfing??? Annalise was awesome at the slip and slide!
The gifts and the cake (I wish I got a close up of the cake. It was really cool looking)

We got "trick" candles for the cake, so the flame kept coming back. All the kids decided to help Madeline blow them out for good...YUM! Betcha wanted a taste of that frosting! :-)
The party in front of the bounce house! It was A LOT of girls! (and our buddy Jackson!)
Starting the water balloons
Madeline with her decorations (thanks daddy) and her loot! She scored! Thanks Friends!
Madeline with her special book from Grandma and Grandpa Ray

They spent lots of time and many miles working on this book. It's amazing...Thank you for coming from Las Vegas to spend her birthday with her!
Her forever wanted Rollerblades (thanks Grammie and Grampa)
And the Razor from Mom and Dad (she's been cruising outside ever since)

A better look at her cake...later that night, we met up with some other friends for some cake and ice cream. The cake was fondant and it was really fun and easy to make. I will do that again!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET SWEET MADELINE! WE LOVE YOU!!

You guys are COOL parents. I can't believe she invited 15 kids...and you said YES! That's awesome.
Good job on the cake, so cute. Also, props to Matt on the fun b-day decor. What a nice daddy.
