July CT Trip 2010

This July, I got brave and travelled to CT with my 3 kids, by myself, to visit my parents.

I was really nervous about the plane ride out there, but the kids did fabulous!

What made it more fun was that Tricia and her kids, and Kristy and Rachael

were in town for the couple of weeks we

were there, so the cousins got to spend some time together.

The night we flew in, there was an activity at Salmon Brook Park.

This is the park that I grew up playing soccer, baseball, and just hanging out in.

It was fun to take my kids back there!

there was a magician on stilts....my kids were mesmerized

we played at the lake and built sandcastles

we played in grampas pool on the new family dog

giving gramps hugs and kisses after pinching and being mean

lauren ventured off the board, and Madeline flipped a few times...can you see her?

Maddie and Ty loved playing in the water together and baby Rachael loved being in the sun.

Lauren was old enough and big enough to ride on the open road in the Z with Grampa this year.

She was in heaven!

we danced in the rain...and covered our ears from the thunder

we visited the animals at the scoop...my girls have always been petrified of feeding the llamas...not my boy...

he jumped right in and didn't even flinch

lauren didn't think they were that cute!

Rachael experienced her first taste of ice cream. i think she liked it, although by the looks of her thighs, i think her parents feed it to her more than we know! :-)

we spent some time with great-grandma logie

we spent some time with Mrs. Claus at the North Pole in Yankee Candle

she taught us how to make paper flowers

we dipped our annual candles

Grammie took Madeline to NEW YORK CITY!

She is one lucky little lady!

while grammie and maddie were in NY, we went to the carousel...at the mall...

and at the grocery store..in our jammies...

we weathered a rain storm...and danced in it too...

we played in the dirt with grampa

we mowed the lawn...

and learned how to golf...mitch actually got really good at hitting the ball

we went back to the lake in our matching swimsuits

and this time took the sailboat out!

it was awesome to take my kids on the toy that i have so many childhood memories on

maddie didn't LOVE it, but lauren sure did. she just about fell asleep with her feet dragging in the water!

this is a grampa's heaven. 5 of his grandkids on the sailboat at one time!

thanks for the amazing time this summer! we made wonderful memories and look forward to many, many more!
