As one last hurrah, we decided to take a quick weekend trip to McCall, ID.
We had been there once before, but just as a day trip, so we wanted to spend a little more time there as a family.
Once we got there on Sunday afternoon, we checked into our condo and went to find some dinner.
Pizza it was.
The we decided to walk around the town. The kids got a kick out of the crosswalks there. Instead of electronic crosswalks, they have flags that the pedestrians take, stand in the middle of the road and help yourself cross. The cars are expected to yield to the pedestrians.
At first, Maddie was the only one who wanted to play "crossing guard," but once the others saw how fun it was, everyone wanted to take a turn.
Mitchy was loving the water. it was super cold, but so beautiful!
daddy and his 1st daughter!
we heard this was the best ice cream place in town.
we decided to try it out, but when we got there, the line was super long AND
they were out of the good flavors.
We decided to find a new ice cream parlor.
taking a picture on the dock
I LOVE these kiddos!
and this amazing family!
once we found our ice cream, we went back to the lake to find a place to eat.
Mitchell decided he was going to sit right in the middle of the boardwalk.
and he did.
it was funny.
just gorgeous!
Lexa giving some pomegranate sorbet a try
check out all the ice cream.
that's what they considered a "childs portion"
and people wonder why the world is obese!
breakfast the next morning was blueberry pancakes, bacon, strawberry topping and whip cream.
orange juice to wash it down.
we were eating in style!
daddy was the chef.
this shows how much he loves his family!
Madelines expression of a great breakfast!
bottoms up!
we headed out to Gold Forks Hot Springs
gorgeous pools.
the hottest pool was 108 degrees.
they got cooler from there.
I personally love the hot water.
the kids enjoyed the one right below the hottest one.
I love that it's all natural water!
Madeline having a moment of crankiness
but it passed quickly
my favorite kids, minus Alexa. She was on the sideline!
but happy being on the sideline!
that night we took a bike ride through Ponderosa Park.
it was amazing to see all the deer and how close you can actually come to them.
the kids cruising along
riding down the hills in the sand. Mitchell was on his scooter, but he thought it was great!
can you see the deer we were checking out?
our last day there, we rented a jet ski.
we considered renting a boat so our family could all go out together, but while Matt and I were hoing and humming about it and going through the pros and cons, another couple walked in and rented it out from underneath us.
it made our decision easy.
Mitchy got to pick the jet ski up with daddy.
while he loved it, he was also scared to death of it!
we took turns going out on the ski. notice Madeline swimming out to meet dad and Mitch.
Lauren waited patiently on the rocks for her turn.
off for a ride!
and then it was Laurens turn.
it's been a long time since I was on one of these.
it was fun to do it again!
out with my girls.
I was a little tamer than their dad, so lauren preferred to ride with me
Mitchell enjoyed throwing rocks into the water.
he's easily entertained.
Lexa chilled.
she's a champ!
maddie got brave enough to drive.
she's now saving her money for a wave runner.
funny girl.
I love my 'not so little' family.
we had a fantastic time and can't wait to go back again!
